Joja a Meli

“Joja and Meli” is the first quarterly comic of “Pinkpill” for the children’s magazine “Raketa.” The protagonists of the comic are two twin siblings, Joja and Meli, who will experience many adventures by traveling through their teleportation machine to different places around the world. They will introduce us to the customs and curiosities of the cultures they discover through their adventures.

“Joja” is brave and adventurous, dynamic and spontaneous. Meli, on the other hand, is studious, reflective, and very clever. Both of them make the perfect pair to immerse us in a multitude of fun and exciting situations.

Style and color

They should have a very clear and dynamic aesthetic. They are redheads, and to reflect their personalities, she always wears a checkered dress, while Meli wears striped shirts, always in red. One of the key elements is the use of colors. We wanted to use a limited, very basic, and uncoated color palette. By incorporating textures, we give the whole thing a special and slightly vintage tone.

The places they visit and discover are real, and around these locations, we create a fun and straightforward adventure, somewhat imaginative, through which children can explore new places and curiosities of different cultures in each adventure!
